A Dining Set Is On The Way...

I have been working hard every night on a great vintage dining table and chairs {or kitchen table and chairs... it's up to you.} Yes, I am tackling chairs again... So far I have reupholstered the seats {there were FOUR layers of different fabric to remove!} in darling French looking burlap fabric with honey bees on it. I am in the process now of painting the chairs cream, and painting and distressing the table with cream and charcoal grey. I am LOVING how it is turning out...

Part of me wants to keep it for my sunroom... It would look so perfect in there! I know, I know, I always want to keep my pieces. I get attached. I'm taking my time finishing this one though.

When it's all finished and up for grabs, you'll be the first to know! It should be done within another week or so. I now have to fill up my workshop with pieces to make pretty again. I am very low on inventory at the moment, which is great because my pieces have been selling like hotcakes, but not so great because I've about run out of pieces to work on! I need to find about 3 or 4 more projects soon!!

Here is a little look at the fabric I used to reupholster the seats with:

A Picture, A Painting, A Pillow...

Good morning! Have I told you lately that decorating makes me happy... my home, my friend's home, my office. You name it, I'll decorate it. I love that you can add one piece to change the entire feel of a room. Or a splash of color. Or a picture. Or paint a piece. Or add any object that you love. So below are some examples that I pulled off of pinterest to change a whole room {some easily, others taking a bit more time and money.} But all really make for a lovely looking room.

I love this shade of blue. Line a few of these stools along your kitchen island to add some instant farmhouse glam to your home!

 Add a fun pillow to a sofa, chair, bed or bench... so easy, right?

This coffee table is not your typical rectangular shaped coffee table. It brings so much character to the room. It has a chunky, substantial feel. The flowers are so perky and bright! I am loving those hardwood floors too. Yum.

By putting up a little gallery of pictures, your eye is drawn to the corner of this room. Vintage prints, black and white photos, even new pictures, it doesn't matter. As long as the colors flow, it will work. The frames don't have to be all matchy matchy either.

Or dare to be bold and add just one very large picture... look how the room transforms. I LOVE this. Just beautiful.

My coveted little stag head {that I have yet to buy... but I will} in an office. I knew I wouldn't be the only one to tuck a flower behind its ear! So adorable.

A different take on a headboard... some visual interest for sure. I want old barn doors as a headboard.

Or you can paint a piece a vibrant shade to shake things up a little.. the yellow is so cheerful. When you're sick of it, just repaint it.

Curtains don't have to be white, beige or a solid color. These would look beautiful in my home office. Fun and a little sassy. Just like you... {wait... or is that me?}

Simple, simple, simple... twigs in glass bottles. So easy but such a beautiful presentation. Love this look.

Add an object or two to your space. A few gorgeous Turkish bath towels {love them!!} to your bathroom makes for a really cool vibe. They easily add a bit of luxury to your space too.

Then, pull it all together... This is Reese Witherspoon's home. Don't be afraid of some color... if your heart wants a little color, go for it. Now, I wouldn't paint the walls in a bright color, but adding some color with pillows, throws, books, etc. can change the look of your whole room, but... you can easily switch it to something different if it's just colored accessories.

Happy Monday! Now... I've got a bedroom to go switch up.

Dance Like No One Is Watching...

I love the expression "dance like no one is watching." That is my motto for 2014! Just do what makes you happy in your heart. Let your life be full of fun. These two videos are pure magic. If you watch them, you can't help but smile and feel the happiness!

{I've been told by a bunch of people that the video isn't working on their computers, but others can watch it just fine. Sorry if you're one who can't see it!! Don't know why that is...}

This video is so adorable of a deer dancing like no one's watching her {no sound, but worth the watch.} Look at her go! Love it!!!

She cranks up her ipod a little bit and gets her jam on. So great! {Turn your volume up on your computer a little for this one! Again, worth the watch.}

Let your inner child come out and have some fun today! And dance like no one's watching!!!

Knock Knock... Who's There?

Hi. Unfortunately, Old Mr. Winter Cold And Flu Bug came disguised as my sweet family from Florida, knocking on my door... so I let them in and... WHAM! It hit me like a ton of bricks... This head cold thing has not been fun and has knocked me on my butt {I should buy stock in tissues at this point.} I think I need a break from blogging and painting for a few days until I get better. Once this ugly bug has flown back South where it came from, I will be back! Love you anyway sweet family who brought your nasty Florida bug with you!! Now I need to go double down on some vitamin C.
Be well...

~SOLD~ Vintage Honeysuckle Cream Dresser...

This vintage dresser is incredibly beautiful in person {these pictures seriously stink. I am going to try again tomorrow... Grrr!} The sun was making weird shadows {and I took pictures at 3 different times of the day!} It has been painted a delicious shade of honeysuckle cream with little areas of green peeking through, distressed and waxed by hand. There are 2 smaller top drawers and 3 generous sized lower drawers; all are dovetailed and slide nicely. It rests on petite caster wheels. The knobs are faceted and when the sunlight hits them, colors literally sparkle and glimmer off of them. Simply stunning. I just can't say enough about how pretty in person this piece is. If you love vintage pieces, you just might fall in love with this one. I definitely did!

A Sneak Peek At A New Piece...

I have been working on this dresser for the past week and finally finished her today. She is such a beauty!! I am pretty in love with how it turned out. I painted her a creamy shade of honeysuckle with areas of fresh green exposed. The knobs are faceted so in the right light, they sparkle with color.

Since we had a lot of snow last night, I can't take pictures outside and the lighting in my workshop is not picture approved. So I'm just going to give you a sneak peek of what's to come. Trust me, these pictures do NOT do her justice! I'm hoping that later today I can get some real photos.

I've come to the conclusion that every piece I buy is secretly for me. Yep, that's right. I initially buy to keep. But then I remember that I have a little business that I love and cherish... So reality snaps me in the face like a rubber band, and I get to selling these beauties. This one will be listed soon {as soon as the snow cooperates and lets me get it outside to take some nice pictures in the sunlight.}

Happy Snow Day!

My Dining Room Chairs Are Finished... {Almost!}

These chairs were a lot of work since I painted them all by hand and there are lots of spindles. They are 6 oak press back chairs in beautiful condition. I painted them a creamy vanilla color {my favorite!} and added black numbers on the top. I still have to wax them, but I wanted to show them to you anyway. I'll wax them all today. They look so lovely in my petite dining room and add such charm. And I love the mix of the cream chairs with the dark wood of my farm table. I couldn't be happier with the results. Here are some photos!

I like this chair the most because my favorite number is 7.

And my husband's favorite number is 11...

No chairs, but I like my horse picture reflected in the mirror...
